The first European stand up paddle distance race with a large prize purse (€10,000) is taking place on July 10th -12th 2009 in the harbour district of Hamburg. Entries are now open.
SUP is gaining more and more popularity and in cooperation with Naish International and the DWV (German Surfing Association) the first European SUP World Cup is taking place from July 10th to July 12th, 2009 in Hamburg City, Germany.
The JEVER SUP World Cup Hamburg features a competition format which is divided into a short and long distance flat water race for professionals and amateurs and will take place right in the heart of Hamburgs brand new harbour district. For racing all kind of boards up to the maximum size of 14ft are allowed. A fixed fin system is obligatory. The paddle is at your choice.
The main sponsor of this event is Jever – a German beer brand – other sponsors are Naish and the German Surf Association (DWV).
The Riders are 20 professional athletes and 200 amateurs
