The thing I love most about SUP right now is that the sport, although growing at a massive rate, is still small. There is a really friendly vibe. When I go surfing at my local break I know most of the other SUPers, although that is starting to change now as more people get into the sport. So to be invited up to a brand new and growing club, was a real treat to feel that buzz of something new.

Paul Burgess probably holds the world record for number of SUP boards owned. He is pretty obsessed with stand up paddling, the design of the boards and the performance. This all makes him an excellent reviewer for SUPGlobal as he know what he is talking about. Recently he purchased a 14ft Surftech Bark Dominator and has reviewed it for us. I think this is probably the most comprehensive review you will be able to find for this board.

Surftech SHOOTOUT 2011 Peter Trow SUP

The 3rd Annual Surftech Stand Up Paddle Shootout and 1st Annual Surf & Sand Duel-athlon went off last weekend despite Mother Nature's impressive attempts to shut it down!  The event was held at Santa Cruz, California 18th-20th March 2011.  Bumpy seas and rough conditions mean't the event was challenging for even the most experienced SUPers.
