Ivan van Vuuren has been field testing Coreban X-Core stand up paddle surf boards off the West Coast of Africa. In beach break conditions that we can only dream about in the UK right now he has been ripping it up. For those of you who have not heard of Coreban before here are some details about the company :
“Coreban is derived from Corban, which means “Dedicated to God” and what better word to express our days on the water and to give thanks to the Creator.
COREBAN consists of a team of International athletes that are passionate about the sport and specialize in designing QUALITY Stand Up Paddle Gear.
You’ll find quite a few Surf, Windsurf & Kite companies attempting to jump in and make a quick buck, but what makes Coreban different is that it is a CORE S.U.P company with testing done in some of the worlds most extreme conditions- including Hawaii & Africa to ensure that you get the BEST possible product.
We do not claim to be “THE” S.U.P company, as we work alongside some of the world’s leading companies to ensure that the sport is portrayed in the right manner and to help push the limits in equipment design.
If you are just getting into the sport or maybe you’ve been doing it for years, we welcome you to join the Coreban team or one of the other great companies listed on our LINKS site. Most of all, enjoy the sport of Stand Up Paddle Surfing and keep on riding.”
Anyway, back to the action. Luckily someone was on hand to catch the surfing on film and has youtubed it so here we go :
