BSUPA is pleased to announce the entry forms for the Second Round of the 2009 Series at Gwithian Beach near St Ives, Cornwall are now online. To be held on the weekend of 6th/7th June hosted by Sunset Surf.
We will be running a SUP Surfing Contest (providing the waves are good enough). Regardless of waves an SUP Distance race will be held for all categories (men’s, women’s and juniors). There is a max board length of 12’6” on all BSUPA distance events held this year. Results for both the Surf and Distance events will go towards the final 2009 Championship. A series of short sprint races may be run, for fun, if time allows. This format was trialed for the first time at West Wittering. It was a lot of fun for both spectators and those taking part.
You can now enter online now following the link below Please be sure to enter in advance as there will be a £5 admin cost for anyone entering on the day. All entrants must as always be paid up members of BSUPA. As with the West Wittering event, BSUPA are offering 2 weeks competition membership for £10 for those not wanting to become full members. This must be done on the weekend of the competition so this will include the £5 handing fee. If after the competition you want to increase your membership to the full year, the £10 will be deducted from the membership cost.
The first event at West Witterinf was a resounding success and enjoyed by all. Gwithian will continue the fun and good vibe which follows all BSUPA events. It is a stunning beach with good facilities for all the family. On the Saturday Night Sunset Surf Cafe will be hosting a party with food & pint or glass of wine for £6. For those people coming from further afield there are a number we have details of a number of camp sites and B&B’s.
Camp sites are both very close to the beach but you will probably want to drive to the event each day – walkable from the cafe at night post beer
